We are beyond excited to launch our ‘Rest Restore + Restore with Horses’ workshops in partnership with Deirdre Mcgrath, a remarkable horsewoman with over 20 years of meditation and life coaching experience and more than 40 years of experience working and training horses. The day will be infused with scientific principles and meditation practices to help teach people the silent energy language of horses.

Why with Horses?
Horses are highly intuitive animals and masters of reading human body language. Recent research conducted by the Institute of Heart Math estimated that horses have an electromagnetic field that can expand up to 15 meters around their body, whereas a human's heart electromagnetic field is only up to 3 meters; horses can literally feel you coming. A horse’s response to a human can tell us if we need to relax. When we relax, the horse relaxes - horses provide a mirror to our inner state. It is also significant that the horse’s electromagnetic field is stronger than ours and can actually directly influence our own heart rhythm!

What is included in the day?
You will meet your hosts and start the day with tea, coffee and fresh baked treats and a few moments to arrive and soak up the views.
You’ll begin by learning about the science behind how horses communicate with humans and basics of horse behaviour and safety.
Next, we will sit/stand with the herd and be guided through breathing exercises to help calm and settle the mind and set intentions.
The group will then be shown methods of connecting with the horses that have been scientifically proven to enhance energetic communication resulting in much deeper non-verbal communication. Read more about it here.
Good food is always the focus at Glendalough Organics, and a two-course lunch of local, seasonal fare will be one of the highlights of your day.
Refreshed we will return with a practice of mindful moving with the horse through body language matching.
We will attune with the presence of the horse we are drawn to and notice what arises for us to share later around the fire.
Amy, a botanist will guide us around the land to collect herbs for our closing tea and fire ceremony.
Closing fire ceremony, a simple yet profound practice that was carried out by our ancestors.
Note: You will be part of a group of up to 10 participants and 4/5 horses of all sizes. you can be as close or as far away from the horse as you feel comfortable. Distance will not reduce the merit of your experience.
Anything else ?
This is an outdoor event in the Wicklow mountains, so suitable outdoor clothing should be worn along with wellies or sturdy boots. Wear layers we don’t want you getting cold :)
Indoor sitting sessions will take place in the polytunnel if it’s raining.
Please bring notebooks for self observations.
Sun hat and sun cream in the unlikely event of it being very sunny.
The terrain is hilly, and a reasonable fitness level is required to access the horse’s paddock.
If you have zero horse experience, do not be put off coming, we will support you to get to know these beautiful animals.

For cancellations, a minimum €10 fee for admin costs will be deducted from the refunded amount.
No refund or transfer will be given should the client cancel within 5 days of the date of the event booked. There will be no refunds or transfers for no-shows on the day.
